p.1 #1 · How do I view EXIF data

Hi

I have CS3 and can view my own image's metadata in bridge but how can I easily look at the EXIF data of posted images?

Many thanks

Jane

If you use Firefox as your browser, there is a plugin available to read EXIF online. Not sure about other browsers.

The Firefox plugin I use is from Opanda. Of course this assumes the exif wasn't stripped prior to posting.

Hi Thanks very much its all working fine.

Just another point .. why do people strip out the EXIF data?

I'd say most of it's done unintentionally. PSs save to web does it automatically for example.

Jane,
I think some people strip it as a matter of a sense of privacy and even sometimes competitive reasons...not wanting others to see exactly what you're doing. And as caryb said, it's probably more often done to streamline/reduce file size when posting to the web.
Thanks for the tip ohenry, I went to Firefox's plugin page and installed the exif reader...now all I have to do is right-clik on any image and select exif reader from the dialog box - it's way easy. I already had some exif readers, but I don't think any of them could do that.
I installed several other very useful free browser plugins while there (they have almost 2,000 of them). Very cool.
Cheers,

You may also try going to file>file info>metadata 1 in CS3?
