Putting some travel thoughts together for this year. Has anyone attended this festival in Othello WA? (end of March) Comments??
Mark, I just googled "Othello Festival March" since I wasn't sure what was going on in Othello. Actually, I didn't know anything ever happened in Othello . Obviously it does! Sandhill Cranes - I look forward to hearing from those who've attended.
Note: Had I paid attention to your title, I would have known...
Mark, I have been at the Othello festival the last two years. There are plenty of birds however They are spread out over large areas and are certainly not as easy to photograph as say Bosque. Unless you are a birder, do not waste time going on the tours with the groups. The tours do help you find good locations to go back to though. If you decide to go head to Korfu road about eight miles West of Othello and go North to the end ( about two miles.) The real gem of the Festival is the Burrowing Owls. If you do decide to go give me a PM and I will give you directions to some of the burrows. The Yellow Head Blackbirds therre are also amazing. I spent two hours just listening to the songs and watching them. I will be in Africa this year so will not be able to go this year. Stop by the Old Hotel Gallery there and I have some images there. Get your motel reservations early since it is limited. Hope this helps. Bruce
