1st day of a new year and all I could think of is the promises we make. I quite about 7 years ago (and no it was not a new year’s resolution), but it took a number of tries. Can you believe it now cost $.75 per smoke? That's a lot of sin tax!
C&C welcome
Well here is the final BW version. Thank you all for the suggestion.

An excellent idea with wonderful execution, well done Don!
I'm wondering though, have you considered black and white? I think it might enhance this even more.
That is a toss up for sure...
I PM'd you the settings for a quick adjustment I made on your black and white, more along the lines of what I envisioned. Hope you don't mind. (Nothing wrong with your conversion though.)
Don,
We quit about the same time I guess. I am sure glad I did quit too. Hmmmm, I figure that is about $10K I saved so can maybe I can talk to my wife about some new long glass.
BTW, I like the BW version better.

Christian if that works with your wife let me know I might use that one. However I fear my wife will realize I've spent way more on this hobby, but it is healthier.
Great B&W image. Congrats on remaining a non-smoker. I've always been allergic to tobacco smoke so you can imagine how that restricted my life for years... couldn't go to a movie, or a restaurant, or fly on an airplane; they even let people smoke in college classrooms. I tried allergy shots for years but it didn't help much, plus my allergist let people smoke in the waiting room so I had to wait out in the hallway!
I also remember smoking on various airlines, restaurants and other public areas. Now I'm not an x-smokers that hates cigarette smoke, but I'm occasionally bothered in smoked filled areas. So at that point I just go elsewhere, if I'm not in a plane but I can't imagine dealing with allergic reactions in such tight spaces.
The people that get me scratching my head are the ones that wear oxygen tanks or condensing units while smoking. It was hard for me to quit, but that's just over the top.
Congrats on putting a costly habit (in more ways than one) in the past!
Great focus in this image, and I really like the composition of the 2 cigarettes.

I quit just over ten years ago and have never looked back. Best decision I ever made I think. I agree with B/W version for this shot, which by the way is going to give the rest of us a whole lot of competition.
