I think I was going to point out the same bug (may not be a bug but I like the old way better). I think it may have to do with a post containing a large picture. Before, when a post had a large picture, it was only that one person's post in which the text filled the full size of the picture/window - Now, the entire page of posts is the size of whatever picture is on that page. Just a little nitpick - I have to go back and forth because every post it wider than my screen
Yes indeed, a wide image will extend the width of the table that holds messages, and consequently the text in that table will flow to that width too. I am not sure how the old code pulled off the trick of keeping text narrow, if it did. Probably it was a fixed width for the whole table. I will look into this.
Have done a few bugfixes on the page numbers:
- the ... link should work ok in board topics now
- if you're on page 1, you can now always see that
- end appears after each topic on the board
IMO, pagespan is less confusing and it also looks better now. The point is that we can get to the same pages without the <>.
I can see most of the pagespan issues are fixed, except for the search.php (recent posts, search, last 60 posts) where when you click on a page link, the number does not change from being a link.
Also, that "End" link after every single-page thread on viewboard is a little distracting. Do you think there is a different way of doing it?

I am still having trouble with the "next" button from within a thread. Pushing next sends me to a random post, sometimes just a few posts down, sometimes three pages later, and occasionally to a thread in a different forum altogether.

That happened about a month ago. When clicking Next, members should go to the following thread in viewboard. (Actually the thread right below it)
The same goes for Prev. It should take us to the previous thread (above thread in viewboard)

I can't think of a better way, but I'm open to suggestions. As someone who didn't realise that function was there for 2 years, I think I can speak for the point and drool masses when I say that what matters is that people can see it's there, and also understand what it does. Usability has to come before pertiness.

Those of us with FireFox will Ctrl-Left-Click to open in a new tab. The old code always opened in a new tab _AND_ opened in the current tab.
Sometime recently, Ctrl-Clicking started just opening in the new tab. I thought that was an intentional fix.
Apparently it wasn't!
It certainly was, as I said when I fixed it. I will fix it all over again and this time, hopefully without introducing a javascript error, which I never saw.

I keep getting emails (multiple emails for the same thread) normally you get one email for a single thread until you re-visit that thread, I get a email for the thread every time someone post on the thread for each post they add. instead of just one notification, until a revisit. I hope that makes sense.
Me too. Multiple notifications, with, or without a new reply. I also get notifications when I post a second or third, etc. photograph. Just cleared 22 notices.
My inbox has also been getting flooded with "1-for-1" notifications as well. Every time someone posts a message in a discussion thread, I get an e-mail alert irregardless of whether I visit the link or not.
The original design is one email alert per thread until you visit the site. It's currently broken.

OK - I will look into this next. Can you clarify how it should work? Is it when you visit a thread that it STOPS sending notifications, or is it when you visit the site at all. Personally I would like to see a more explicit way to subscribe to a thread, as someone mentioned above. Someone shouldn't have to post in order to subscribe. We would record whether you are subscribed, and the date/time of your last visit to the thread. Then you would get one notification when a thread grew after a visit. Does that make sense?
I received 10+ emails overnight all to do with the same thread, one for each post on that thread. you should receive one email until you revisit the thread.

I've noticed that for threads that have multiple pages, there aren't links to the pages on the forum page anymore. For example, in the City, Still life & Abstract forum, the "Mustang Air to Air 'The Sequel'" thread has 22 pages, but no page links when you view that forum. This thread here is another example.
Another bug: when a thread has a title that includes an apostrophe, the "new post" notification e-mail has the apostrophe preceded by three backslashes (example: "Scott\\\'s Oriole in NYC").
