I'm currently using a Sony Vaio with built-in card reader support (it is very fast) to process images. Whenever I use a USB card reader to load on to (G4 mini, Intel MacBook) the transfer is noticeably slower. I plan to move my image processing to Mac in January and need to speed this up.
What would you recommend?
Are the 34/express card readers the way to go?
Does a Mac Pro have any better options?
