Hi guys, thought it might be an idea if we could post the links to the reviews that we find for the D300 in here rather than having tonnes of individual posts. Just a thought.
dcrecources has posted his. Poor Jeff must have been struggling to find some faults with it. Battery life, by the way, is rated at 1000 shots. And I can definably say this is real this time.
Nice review....still working on more of mine that I published a few weeks ago. I wasn't quite prepared for the response. (talk about interest!!!) a half a million page hits in a little under a week. Instead, I pressed the D300 into service to get a feel for how it performs at work. I am not a professional reviewer...just a photog with a passion for the art. Though the specs won me over on their white paper announcement August 28th (I pre ordered the same morning) - I wanted to write a review that was more about practical use than technology. So, I expect to write another page or two on that, from birding, to product shoots etc. The vertical grip really adds to the D300 in so many ways, that I doubt I will ever remove it except to recharge the camera body battery. FWIW....
1_of_9 (or James?), thanks for the link to your review. End of the day brain freeze but I will digest it more tomorrow but I like your point about 12-bit vs 14-bit. Sounds like if we need the full fps we aren't necessarily losing that much IQ in reality.
I wasn't happy about it when I read the specs, but I haven't even noticed the ISO 100 issue today while shooting in outside in bright light. But I am getting a Cokin system for the filtering, so can't say it's going to be any issue for me anyway.
