p.1 #1 · Lithium AAs in Grip for extended shooting?

I'm going to be on a 2 week ski trip where I will not have a chance to recharge batteries. I plan to take my canon 20D and the grip. I'm thinking about taking a bunch of Lithium disposable AAs to keep it powered up. Has anyone had any experience with using them? Better than the rechargeables?

you have another choice. remove the grip (thus removing both weight and bulk) and invest in a few more original type batteries. the ones from sterlingtek work out very well.

at $12 a piece you can do little wrong vs throw aways.

The instructions say that you cannot use Lithium AA batteries in the BG-E2 handgrip.

Good point monochrome. Always a good idea to read the instructions. I'll opt for the Sterlingteks.

As long as you don't have an IS lens and/or use the built in flash a lot, one regular battery should last 2-3 days, depending on your shooting syle. Just get some extras.

Hell in the spirit of Christmas I'll give you an Impact battery for it. It was given to me when I got my 5D. But I'm kinda weird and won't use but OEM.

The AA option for the grip is a good emergency backup option, but the regular lithium rechargeable should last much longer than AA cells. I agree on the sterlingteks. I have 4 for my XT and they work as well as the OEM battery.
