p.1 #1 · Photoshop CS3

I need some help. I have always relied on Aperture to edit and export my photos for printing and web presentation. However, due to an increase in business, I no longer shoot in jpeg format, but I shoot in RAW and love the versatility given to me by Photoshop CS3, especially the Camersa RAW editing. But I have a HUGE problem.

My basic workflow consists of shooting the images in RAW, uploading them to Adobe Bridge on my MacBook Pro, batch editing them in RAW, processing the images (which converts them to jpeg High (12) Quality), spot correcting and skin toning the ones that need it, then uploading them to my website (which allows for High-Res downloads.

My problem is this. The color and saturation of the jpeg file does not reflect the adjustments I made in Camera RAW. Basically, the exported jpeg image looks like a 25% desaturated version of the image I edited and processed in Camera Raw.

Like I said, I am new to Photoshop and really need to know why this might be happening. Thanks for any assistance you can give.

Because I am so new shooting in RAW and have always shot in jpeg, the RGB CYMK thing is very foreign to me and I don't know how to check to see whether I am or not. All I want is for the photos that I upload to the web and save for print to look like the edited RAW version that I process to jpeg.

When you are working with a raw in Adobe raw converter at the bottom there is a line of text that tells what setting it is using. Click on this line an you will get the chance to change the options.

With a jpg open in Photoshop click edit then convert to profile and the source space is the color space your photo is in if not srgb use this to convert the color space.

To follow up on what WAYCOOL advised; I suspect you're converting your image to Adobe RGB. If you intend to post images on the Web you need to convert to sRGB instead.

There are two ways to do this:
1. In Camera Raw, look at the bottom center, to the right of the "SAVE IMAGE" button you will see what looks like a web link. Click on it and it will show your Workflow Options. Change the "Space" drop-down box to sRGB.

2. Export to Photoshop in the existing color space. Before doing your final save, go to Edit/Convert to Profile and select sRGB as the Destination Space profile.

An image posted to the Web with the Adobe RGB profile embedded will appear washed out since most browsers are not color aware.

I am by no means an expert in Photoshop, but this is my understanding of the above.

A shot processed in ACR and left in RGB, will automatically be saved as an sRGB, if you use "File -----> Save for Web & Devices."

What I do is process in RGB. After I have flattened & saved (for a potential print file), I go into the Image Size dialog box, change the resolution to 72 and change the longest side to 800 or 850, then 'Save for Web and Devices.' In that dialog I click on the Quality box and drag the slider until I am at about 100K on the bottom left corner. Before saving, I add Wb to the name so that I visually know it's my web file of that shot.

Please correct me if I am wrong, but that seems to work for me.
