Who has Chess pieces as unique as this?? Wait I know,...Endre from his amazing world of tinker toys!!! That is what amazes me about this entry!! Good stuff.
Beautiful as usual! I really like your chess set. The color and lighting are very well done. I like the way you kept in the border of the chess board to add more depth to this image.
So glad you like it, Steve, my friend! I always think of you when I photograph some object in my extensive collection of stuff.
All best wishes,
Endre

I don't play a scripted part but I was comissioned by the theater company "A Noise Within" (one of the premier classical repertory companies in the US) to write and perform (solo violin) all the music. As you know from reading it, Shakespeare indicated several songs for Autolycus to sing. There are also a couple of dances that he put in. No real record of the music from the time exists so every production needs to come up with whatever they need to fulfil those requirements. In this production, I am a costumed character and interact a lot with the other actors on stage. I am Leontes' court violinist and play a dance at the very beginning of the play. I am also sort of a "Greek Chorus" and play a lot of musical commetary underneath several of the monologues. I also play a lot of music during the "Sheep Shearing" scene as well as opening and closing music and scene changes for the whole play. Finally, I'm the one who wakes Hermione's statue from death. It's all quite magical and , needless to say, a lot of fun to do. I always get (by far) the biggest hand at the end of every show.
All the best,
Endre

Great photo, I love it. I also love the Winter's Tale, although I just finished reading it for the first time a few days ago. What part do you play?
How wonderful! I love your Chess set, and of course, your lighting and DOF are perfection. We expect nothing less from you, my sweet friend. Another finalist!
Aww... Thanks so much, Philly, my dear friend! You are always too kind with your comments! Normally the "F word" betokens the end of all possibilty, but in your case your predictive track record is so good that I won't worry. :worried:
All best wishes,
Endre

Very nice. Is it just me or I would have preferred the angle of view to be a bit more in front of the guys (like turning the picture a few degrees CCW)
