for me, there's nothing more irritating than to see a parent living through the life of their child.
In other words, "I always dreamed of playing in college and never received the chance- so my kid has to do it for me".
We have a soccer parent who used to play on the semi-pro level and both daughters play soccer for my alma mater. The WHOLE game he would stand in the stands and scream at the top of his lungs.
It's great if it's positive, but anything else..blah.
This "Mom" was "encouraging" the defenders from the other team. We have been asked by our coach to only praise and encourage our team and leave the shouting of instructions to the coaches. Subsequently the kids have been less confused and played better. They don't actually need us complicating everything with our experience, they need to gain their own.
It was a very cold, wet and windy sunday and the 5D nearly stayed in the bag...
...but just in case my son scored, it was ready...
...but I missed that shot as I was watching the game and not looking thru the viewfinder.
