Bryan, this is a great, warm shot of an under-visited part of our national heritage. OK, Gila is remote, but travel has never been cheaper!

I've taken casual snapshots (literally) from a car window that I've been pleased with. Never mind the rest of the Wilderness -- none as good as yours, naturally.

You blocked the bright sunlight well and still captured its golden reflection off the foliage. I like the composition with the stream central to the photograph very much. I do see a broken line of trunks on the left, making me think that is one tree when I believe it is two. That's not major -- or even minor -- at all.

Isn't Gila heaven on earth??

It is very pretty. Nice colors, nice framing, nice stream leading away.

But it is hard to tell - it looks like the sky is overexposed.

You might be able to improve the sky with layers and masking in photoshop.

Please post a larger version and exif.

Gila is really nice and I could see how snow would be a problem that time of year. Gila is about 4000 ft up and the road north to Gallup from there is 8600 above Sealevel. Even Las Cruces is up there. But... You need to go back someday

If I make it larger won't I get in trouble? I will play with it

There is no trouble. You are just limited to 170kb. So if you make the largest dimension 800 or so and then compress to 170kb, it will upload without trouble.

Alternatively, post a larger size to a free server and put in a link.
