Looks like version 1.0.5 was just posted.
http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&fcategoryid=139&modelid=15653#DownloadDetailAct

This firmware update (Version 1.0.5) incorporates the following improvements and fixes:
1.When playing back images just after recovering from Auto Power Off, the display now shows the last image played back.
2.During remote shooting, images are now displayed on the camera's LCD monitor right after they are taken.
3.Corrects a warning message in Korean that appears when updating the firmware.
4.Corrects errors in the Spanish menu screens.
5.Corrects a phenomenon that prevented printing with some print systems.
6.Corrects a rare phenomenon in which file numbers or image numbers were sometimes skipped.

what about stuff that people have actualy be comlaining about such as the
adding in microfocus adjustment and a box around the histogram so you can actually make good use of it when outdoors?? it wouldn't hurt to allow zoom into actual image during review.

but come on canon. at last drawn the darn box around the histogram, what would that take like 3 minutes of effort? there is no way that one is impossible.

I like the histogram as is. Don't want no frickin' box 'round it. However you might consider adding it to an overlay if you really dig borders. Besides, Canon uses the FW updates to fix bugs, not add features...

Maybe I'm thick, but I can't find any button or option that allows me to keep the shooting information on the main LCD on constantly like the 400D does.
I wish they would add an option for that.

As I recall, the 400D (XTi) does not have a top LCD so Canon had to use the only screen on the camera. I was never a fan of that. I prefer a good old 2 screen camera, one for shooting info and one for image review.

I believe you can display the shooting info on the main LCD by pressing the info button twice when the camera is not in playback mode.

I changed my info button to display shooting info when pressed.
I made the wheel button playback.

It states that a CF card with at least 64MB or 2GB or less is required. Anyone know if this is really true? I have a 4GB card in now.

Well it seems to work with the 4GB card. I guess those are old instructions.

I put my 4GB cards in my 40D and they wouldn't work in either my 5D or 1DMIIN until I completely reformatted them. I don't have any smaller cards, so I don't know if the 4GB seems to work thing means much.

Why is the 4gb card not working in a camera specs says min 64Mb? Strange My 4 gb card works well even in my previous 30d & 5d.

So what's the big deal? You should reformat them in the camera anyway.

I used a 4GB for the 40D firmware update, and had no issues.

that's not much of a feature. not being to see where the edge of the histogram is under anything but dim conditions is kinda a bug if you ask me. and i;ve seen numerous people bring up this 'bug' in other forums. with the 20d it was easy to see where it ended even in direct sunlight.

Actually I find the 40D LCD much easier to see than my 20D, not just for reading the histogram, but for every other purpose. The 20D LCD was so tiny it was nearly useless. My 5D LCD is almost as large as the 40D, but is so dim I can't see it except indoors or at night. The 40D is like the blazing Hawaiian sun in comparison.

I hate the damn 40D LCD so much, Images often have a purplish cast, so colour checking is uselss. And the pics in Review mode look so damn soft
