Nice series. That first twin takeoff is one sweet shot and the landing shot is great. They always seem like they're going to crash on landing don't they?

HI Moses,

I was intrigued by their running take-offs but the landings are almost scarry to watch I've got a few more take-off shots I need to process but these were some of the best early morning ones I got.

Such an atmosphere this place must have. I could imagine some of these looks spectacular in print cause they do on my screen - Wow.

The monkey must be a Bearded Tamarin

Thanks Tobias,

It is definately different than most places I get to shoot around here in Southern California that for sure. Not a freeway in sight. Personally, I think the Bearded Tamarin is much better looking than the type of monkey I shot out at Bosque

Very nise set of splendid images, Ken. Lovely golden light, and great color and poses. # 6 and 8 are my favorites. Thanks for sharing,
Socrate

Thanks Socrate. I'm usually out a bit after the sun is up on a normal shooting day but I was out there well before sun up every morning to make the most of this trip. I think it was worth it for the quality of light I was getting. The Sandhills like to fly out just as the sun is peeking over the horizon so there is a very narrrow window of opportunity if you want to get shots of them taking off. Glad you enjoyed them and thanks for your continued support

Wonderful series Ken! You sure took advantage of that golden morning light. Favorites are 6, 8 and 9......and 10, was this one domesticated or did you find him in the wild?

Doug

Thanks Doug. Had a great time and getting a chance to shoot with, and at the Monkey, made it all that much more enjoyable. I think it is only partially domesticated, at least it appeared to be paper trained

Hey Ron, it might also be the scariest thing you see this year

Hi Ken! I am so, so jealous! These are beautiful shots, and I am so glad you enjoyed your time there.
My favorite is the first twin takeoff. Awesome light.
Someday, I will get there too!
Thanks for sharing these.

Hi Bonnie,

I am so, so glad you are jealous I had a wondeful time and it just wouldn't have been worth it had I not incurred a tinge of jealousy from someone I really did have a great time and the photo ops were nearly endless at this time of year. The locals kept telling me that it gets even better over the next couple of months but I don't see how. I sure hope you get your chance to visit someday as I am sure you would enjoy it as much as I did.

Mr. Zoom -
Looks like you had a very enjoyable and productive (4,000 shots) trip. I'll be looking for more of your shots on the board.

HYey, Ken. Just found these. Looks like you had a fine trip. Fantastic place isn't it? Hope to have it a little more wired this time. Really like the pair taking off and the ol' coyote in the last image.

Great variey of shots Ken. Nice to see some not so closeups.
Ted

Thanks Ted. The area around Bosque cries out for a more creative approach to photography than the typcial close-up of a bird on a branch that we are forced to shoot in the city. I don't like buildings and fences in my backgrounds but shooting at Bosque opens up the possibilities.

Great "Bosque Tour", Mr Hollywood! You've really captured the spirit of the place,
the lighting, and some wild things that go bump in the night. Thanks!

(Just hope you didn't scare off anyone on the fence about making the trip, Ken)

Hey Will,

This still just a taste of what's to come If anyone is responsible for scaring off the tourists, it will be he who sports the monkey face
