Before Christmas the schedules were so far off that I never was at the station at the time the Crescent was coming through - even though I was there on time - I got a lot of freights.
The other night I was down at the station when I was surprised to see the Crescent rumbling down the line. Got one shot off. Not a great one - but it does show the train exists~
In Rochelle, IL we have Jet Powered trains... This JPSnowblower uses it's J-7 jet engine to power down the track. I think it would be a great idea to have one these in a James Bond movie one day....

On a damp, foggy mid-morning in February, 1988 slow moving CP SD40-2 5811 leads an empty northbound (timetable east) coal train past a pair of CN cranes on the CN Rawlison Sub outside of Fort Langley. 5811 is actually passing on a siding while the work train occupies the main.
This CN derailment occurred in September, 1984 at Cheam View, between Chilliwack and Hope, B.C. CN SD40s 5079 and 5097 were on the head end of a westbound unit coal train bound for the Roberts Bank deep-sea coal loading facility. At this point the tracks run between Hwy 1 and the Fraser River.
Couldn't resist this shot of the large crew seemingly standing around doing nothing. There were two large cranes on site and I think at this moment the second one was setting a large pre-assembled track panel in place.
