Yet girls love it. As do most graphic designers i've come across.
Count me as a graphic designer who most surely does not like it. Really a mess--looks like ugly work from 1987 (not good work from 1987.) All that ugly design is just a distraction from your photography, which is at a much higher level than the design of the card...

Personally i think it look great. Several steps higher than most posted here. It's actually the main details that let it down to me. The site, email and phone looked like they were just dragged into the box whereas the rest of the card looks intentional and very classy.
I am looking into a business card maker, moo.com looks very nice but a bit pricey. Another place is premiumcards.net but I havent heard much about them. Do you guys have any suggestions? Thanks
These are the ones I'm using currently. I needed something quick for this year, so did them through moo.com. All the same back, 4 different images for different types of clients -- 1 for classic car owners and shows, 1 for import car owners and shows, 1 for portraits, and 1 for everyone else. I'm just trying to get started this year with this as a side project, but still wanted decent cards w/o the added expense of hiring a designer at the moment. I can also add more images as I get bored with these or have a need for a different type of client, so the flexibility is nice.
I think I've redesigned this thing a half dozen times and I'll prolly do it again in the spring. The back side presently features lines I can write notes on, or appointment information
whoa. ran into this thread again since posting back in October of last year. thanks for the props on the cards guys.
for those interested, those cards were printed at overnightprints.com. Horrible service but they surprisingly turn out quality products if you provide them with quality artwork. Printing the cards are relatively cheap i think $30 for a box of 100? I have about 4-5 different business card designs because i get bored with it after a while. Card was printed on 15pt card stock. color both sides. UV coating both sides.
gheller, you're from Hawaii?!?!? Man, i miss that place. I was born and raised on Maui. Now im stuck in the Portland rain I envy you.
I'm just curious if anyone here has tried the spot gloss from overnight? I'm looking to print some cards with them and they offer it in an offhand manner, but I'm having a hard time getting anyone there to actually reply back or answer the phone.

Yes, it is great here, but been cold lately (got down into the 60s last night!)
what horrible service did you get from Overnight prints? I have always been happy, but never tried to contact them. Actually, their color can be off sometimes because they print in batches and don't color correct each order...
Inconsistencies were my biggest qualms about Overnight Prints. Inconsistencies in printing. Inconsistencies with color. Inconsistencies in shipping/turnaround time. And inconsistencies with customer support. The two or three times i've had to call in due to inconsistencies, they always ping be back and forth from sales to their print team.
But when it's all said and done, for the price of the product, OP cant be beat, especially for short run quantities. I recommend them to everyone that needs to get good cards printed on the cheap.
