Steve -
Nice looking bird in shot #1. Whatever he is.
As for the Pied-billed Grebe .............. It always amazes me how large a fish these birds can get down their throats.
And as a behavior shot, I was kind of partial to the Cormorrant shot with the plant.

Thanks ken,
The Grebes are amazing, I have images on my site where they are almost drowning trying to get fish down.....lol.
The Cormorant was an impulse shot turned around pulled the trigger and there you have it, got lucky on that one, it's fun how fast things happen when your capturing birds.
Maybe someone will pipe in on the 1st shot, I'm not sure what he is
Very nice and crisp images, Steve, with very pleasing color saturation and good detail. The first bird is a Nutmeg Mannikin (Lonchura punctulata), aka Spice Finch or Spotted Munia, an introduces species from Asia. They are regular visitors of my backyard for three years now . Thanks for sharing,
Socrate

Thanks so much Socrate, I'll just call it a spice finch, thanks for the I.D.
super feeding shots Steve....that poor little grebe has a mouthful.
I have watched literally 100'3 of little grebes and have yet to see one with a fish

I like that " spice finch " and the grebes with fish are amazing. I haven't seen a grebe eat fish either, excellent captures. Herb
Thanks herb maybe I'll put up some more grebes eating fish, the Grebe seems to be pretty popular

Nice series Steve I like the Otter best of the bunch, cool look it is giving you.

Thanks Lou, Yes that otter was standing his ground, those looks spoke very loudly that was close enough.
I'd like to see that Pie-Billed Grebe down that fish...I agree with Socrate on the Nutmeg Mannikin ID, we have some residents here in Southern California. Good light on the Cormorant with fish, and I'm with Dave on that #5 Sea Otter too...
