No, it won't be anything at all like focussing a 5D + Ee-S. And no, Richard, the ISO performance will not match a 5D. But as a small, compact option in a multi-system setup, it has a lot to offer, especially since 4/3rds is even more adaptable than EOS and offers a distinctly different FOV to compliment FF. 5D + E-410 + all-kinds-of-glass sounds like a hell of a lot of fun, choice, versatility...
I have a 5D w/ Ee-S, E-410 with Katz Eye split prism focusing screen, and a couple Zuiko OM primes (24mm f/2 and 50mm f/1.2). I'm having great fun with the OM lenses on both bodies, though I think I need to pick up some slower OM glass to really take advantage of how small and light the E-410 is.
I played with one in the store and the sales guy threw on the viewfinder magnifier. I have to say that it seems *very* usable with that magnifier on it. It had the 14-whatever f2.8-whatever on it and things seemed to snap in and out of focus quite nicely as I turned the focus ring.
Thanks for all the feedback on the E-410, Kit, Amin, Jorgen, etc....
I would think the Panny DMC-L10 mated with Leica 14-50mm f/2.8-3.5.
Wide angle
Decent zoom
Good fast glass with OS
Articulating LCD with live view and optical viewfinder (but small)
Not too small, but I think would be a little bit bigger then a fixed panny P&S
I fail to see how a discussion on the ultimate digital P&S can fit in the Alternative gear forum... anyway... in my opinion there is no better P&S than a small reflex (film or digital) equipped with a good quality manual focus wideangle lens (in the 24mm to 35mm range, be it Zuiko or Contax or Nikkor) with focus set on 3 mt. and aperture set on f/11, and camera in AV mode.
Orlo: the camera I posted images on is a modern E-410 with an old, perfect OMZ lens mounted via an adapter. Where else would this combination belong, if not here?
