Superb! And oh what I'd give for a big bag of home grown tomatoes! Great color...and the tray is an excellent contrast to the fruit. Just excellent, Jess!

Very good photograph, Jess. This is one that you can hang in the kitchen. My only nit pick would be concerning the material underneath the dish. I would prefer that it be a little less sharp so that it doesn't conflict with the subject. That notwithstanding, I like this shot very much!

I understand your quibble with the texture of the place mat. In the high res image, I like the look. I will print it eventually, and may or may not make some subtle alterations to suit. I find that getting the best effect out of texture and blur varies considerably with the size of the image, and is completely different in small screen images.
Thanks so much for your praise and comments! My respect for your abilities leads me to value your critiques very highly.

Thanks Philly! Home grown tomatoes are great, and the homeliest ones are often the best of all.

I think it is fantastic. Lighting, focus and color. As you can tell from my entry we were thinking along the same lines.
Thanks Karen! Yes, we certainly did have similar ideas, but as I commented in your thread, isn't it remarkable how different the resulting images are?
Well done, Jess, my friend! Everyone has already pointed out all the wonderful attributes of this shot so I won't reiterate but simply enthusiastically agree! Bravo!

Thank you, kind friend! I've always loved to eat tomatoes. I wonder why I never tried to photograph them before?

I'm glad I didn't pick up those mini tomatoes I saw at the market yesterday. Nice concept!
I guess you had a similar idea? Never hurts to take your own stab at something. Thanks for looking!
Always enjoy seeing your stuff Jess! I'm glad you're still plugging along... It's great to see a familiar face upon coming back. I hope to make regular entries like I before. Life got real complicated and rough for Zubee and me for a while after our last child was born, but we're both back and ready to play again!
