Nice shot and it has a classic feel in BW. Since the MA is about the environment as well as the jockey you might want to show more BG and/or the horses head if you got it.
Though I like both of these entries; for what it is worth - I disagree about changing the crop. The rider is in his enviroment, and it is an excellent capture.
Really a gorgeous conversion. I have mixed feelings about the missing pieces of the horse's anatomy. I guess I agree with Adam - if the horse's head is not available perhaps an even tighter crop would work. The existing crop seems a bit awkward.
This is a winner! I especially like the vignette. I can feel the silk of the jersey and the light on the jockey is perfect. Are you sure this wasnt shot in the studio?
Congratulations, Flib! I didn't see this before it was chosen, but would have said then that we'd be voting on it. I really like that you focused on the jockey, rather than worrying about the whole horse. Much more interesting. Just beautifully done, and a well deserved vote getter!
