Been checking in on this thread from time to time....decided I finally needed to give Carlos a little competition.
This is Sumo, my Bull Terrier. He's coming up on four months. Sumo has reminded me how nice working with the smaller D70/18-70 combo is as I initially used the D200 w/grip & 17-55 with him. Shots are sharp and the combo is adequately quick for catching the action.
A few snaps over the past few months:
Great shots by everyone here...
Okay... I want a Sumo versus Carlos thread... one-punch each... first Carlos, then Sumo, then Carlos, then Sumo...
Maybe we could have them run an obstacle course to see who wins... of course, because Sumo's a little quicker-looking I think we'd have to let Carlos have him for lunch if he can catch him...
Seriously, great shots Beef... those are worthy competition for Carlos. Maybe not quite enough to unseat the champ yet, but very very good. I really like #3 and #4... cheers.
ps. Nice to see Ray came back with another great Carlos shot too!
I really like this one a lot Mr. McFadden. The misty soft light and pastel-like colors work so well with the reflections and the disappearing boat & horizon. Nice work all the way around on this - it just plain feels good.

thanks Marc,
symmetry that actually "works" is a rare thing indeed
I took this Nikon shot with an old film camera... the F3 and my 105 f2.8 micro Nikkor in 1983. This image is from an extreemly abused Kodachrome slide... Ektachrome would never have endured what this slide went through... and I found it the other night and scanned it with my Epson 4490 Photo. The young ladies name is Lisa and she was a great model to work with.
It is my hope that digital images can survive the test of time as this image has. It went through 8 years of the heat and humidity of summer and the cold of winter in my storage shed in a cardboard box. Hope you like it...and long live the Nikons

If you aren't sure what to wear this weekend, here's an alternative that may work. Fuji S3 @ ISO800, Tamron 24-135mm f/3.5-5.6 @ 135mm and f/6.7
