I took this one on 02/11/2007. Again I used my Nikon D80 but this time I used my Sigma 24 - 70 f2.8. It is a reservoir near where I live in South West Birmingham, England.
i've tried to shoot a white heron in flight. i'm not that happy with the result, but it is a nice attempt. it was rather dark, so i had to bump the iso to get this right. I have to work on my technique a little more i think
I get better results with birds just on the ground or on a rock
...and to continue my "Beyond the Stars" series, here is another addition to my collection. The second shot is not part of the series.
Both images were shot on a D1 fitted with a Micro Nikkor Auto 55mm f3.5 nonAi. The lighting on the first shot is mixed: with a flash/ReyGay diffuser and a flashlight/torch. The second one was lit up by sunlight and the glow of the sparkler itself. There are no PS manipulations and cropping on both shots, just dust bunny cleaning, geez again .
The consequence after the shoot? The front lens element got almost burnt , even tho it was a bit far from the hot stuff but it left remnants on the front lens that took quite a while to remove...shux.
** oh, before you guys pm me again, the shutter speed on both shots are 1/50sec. **
** find the face. It's weird, but I have no idea how the face formed **
** the blue tint came from the camera white balance setting **
