What - a day has gone by and no one has posted to the best Nikon shots?
I'll post one just to keep this thread from dying . . . .
I'm intimidated by everyone's awesome photo's! I'll do my best, but warnings, I tend to over do it, plus I can't process, so I mostly just send SOOC, or use auto modes, which totally kills this forums title! Great shot BTW!
^one man's awesome is another's yawn. Just post what you feel is your personal best, and if you're feeling particularly brave, ask for some no holds barred criticism via the thread or PM My only request is you don't put half a page of photos in one post until you know you rock - haha

Roger that! I should do so, however, I feel like I know my weaknesses are at, yet, I still don't address them! I need to work on quality over quantity I guess! My biggest problem is that I am currently using an archaic camera method, the handheld option, with a manual focus only lens, and the inability to nail this is hampering me, and detracting my sense of accomplishments, if any! I do need to work on confidence as well, but the sheer numbers of awe inspiring photo's here, and elsewhere, coupled with my inability to grasp post processing, other than auto and a few minor adjustments, keeps me at day one! I have multiple years of DSLR use, sadly, I felt the need to just tinker with them and not learn elsewhere! Thanks for the sound advice, and time, good photography, and have a great day!

I don't own a tripod, much less use one. Oh wait, I shouldn't say that...I've got a 40 year old junker in a closet somewhere. If you want it it's yours, but the shipping is on you (and it won't be cheap...pretty heavy thing).

That is quite fine, I enjoy practicing self harm, so please, pass this own to someone much worthier than I! I appreciate the great offer by the way!

My point was that you shouldn't let 'shooting handheld' hold you back. For my type of photography, a tripod is about as useful as a second belly button.

Well, I don't really let it hold me back, I fire away, but sometimes my insecurity taking photo's has in fact made me feel heldback, although, I still snap when I feel the need. This coupled with the fact that I venture upon self torture choosing maual focus only, when I own a camera, Nikon D700, with an extremely advanced AF system, that I do no justice for! The coposure does lie within the photographer, this I understand, yet, I seem to lack all reason, and skill regardless, despite my constant need to try! I took this photo of my cat, at the right moment, and time, and in my opinion, it came out very neat, regardless of what system, lens, or light, I used, just by the mere fact of its moment of capture!
