Was an awe-inspiring moment catching a glimpse of the frozen in motion Zapata Falls
And then my wife slipped and fell on the ice, her head hitting the floor with a sharp crack that echoed through the chasm
As a grown man, I have never been so afraid as at that moment
D700 + 17-35mm
Yeah she's alright thank goodness
She wasn't all that keen on seeing the processed photos of Zapata Falls though...
But yeah I panicked, even though I'm a healthcare worker with many hours of watching Man vs Wild...
It's really sickening; we met at least 15 people coming down as we were walking up
And then up until that moment, not a soul! I must admit the falls suddenly looked dark and gloomy; we felt very much alone

Good to hear she's alright.
The shot looks great. The composition looks tricky. Preventing the rocks from converging at the top of the photo was a good catch. The slim space there works out great.
Very nice, looks like it is quite steep, and quite the climb for the cable car.
I don’t know if I would feel comfortable going up in it, but the view at the top must be fantastic with the ocean and the near by mountains.
I am not generally fond of black and whites, but it works very well here.
Thanks for posting
Dennis

Thanks, that was as far to the left I could go unfortunately. Also found out my shoes weren't waterproof lol. Would have liked to look into the falls further but I couldn't scramble up the slippery ice.
I like the detail and texture in the rocks, but with the light that way, perhaps it's better to downplay them?
That is a challenging exposure, Zichar - I have a bunch of brackets that are waiting to be processed from the slot canyons in Northern Arizona - such a pain to really get those the way you want them.

From the Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles. I had some free time after doing a job in downtown so I walked over to take pictures at high noon. It was miserable hot, but there is no other building I like taking pictures of more.
