The image above consists of numerous layers in PS CS3 just to get that believable depth of field, since 35mm lenses aren't capable of such feats. Maybe if
we start shrinking camera equipments, we can easily get views such as these
without the need of hours of photoshopping.
The image below is a mix of (in PS CS3) focus stacking and dynamic range layers and tone mapping etc. I also used a homemade blue screen - in which case I can replace the texture with whatever I want. In this case, grey and white is good enuf.
Images are shot with a Nikon D1X, Nikkor 35mm f/2 nonAi, K series extension tubes/rings, SB28, ReyGay Flash Diffuser, PS CS3, blue screen
I am so glad to see that the 24-70 can do the Leica quality glow.
Serious. I don't have to lust after better glass anymore, just better talent and light. :-))
Great shot !
Nikt: Glad to see your post is still on and growing
passthegravy: Thanks!
M635_Guy: It's more like taking out the good stuff and layering them into one image, since some shots have harsh highlights. But for these series, almost all of the shots have good exposure lattitude, not something I expect from a D1X
Derry: ...and most of those films I havent seen yet .
Just want to give a big-ups to everybody who posts in this thread. It's a nice respite from the gear-posts, and in my opinion really separates the photographers who are either proud of their work or not shy to post their work aside from talk about the next lens they may be purchasing (or both).
Thanks! I am disappointed with the 4x5 version. It was supposed to look like the digital one but with the streaking clouds! The digital one just has a better exposure and more detail. Learned some things for next time. Fun way to spend my break at work .
