Mantis have eyes (I think - the black spot). They always look at you...creepy. I have film shots of Mantis and all frames had their eyes following the lens.

Thanks Tim, maybe he is a she, finding me irresistible
Btw., if you want to see a couple more captures of this nice little creature I have posted some more Mantis images in the "Wide Angle Close Focus?" thread, as well as a couple in the "Nikon AIS 28mm f/2.8" thread on the Alternative board.
. . . . .
@ BluePixel: Thank you for the camera & lens informations, Sergey.
@ James Burden: Nice shot of the little boy, James, you really caught a priceless moment.
I was bored so I took a picture of my new phone. Just put the phone on one of those crappy white plastic rear lens caps, rigged the SB-800 on a stand with a shoot through umbrella. Pic taken with Tamron 90/2.8 @ f/11, ISO 200 and 1/160.
I think I got some extraordinary shots of two kittens this afternoon, but they're on film and I won't get them back until next week. If I got even a few good ones out of seven or so rolls, they'll be easy fodder for this thread.

What is this film you speak of?
I'm just disappointed my wife's hand was in the frame when I took the pic. I couldn't get him to open his eyes again after that. Oh well...when they're one week old you take what you can get.

Did you use HDR for that shot? It looks amazing.
Thank you. I didn't use HDR for that shot. I just split the sky and foreground into 2 layers and adjusted the hue and saturation with some levels adjustments for each layer.
I posted the original on my flickr page in the comment section for this shot.
