I really enjoyed 1 and 2, they are fantastic!! I tried my hand at this sport and it is very tough, great job! Really good timing. I learned real quick that this sport is all about timing the shot. Great job.

photo #5 seems to have been shot outside, with plenty of light. I've used my 10D up to ISO 3200 in broad daylight, and have gotten outstanding results. Shoot it inside a dark church, and the noise is really bad. Wish I could see how the Mark III handles noise when used at high ISO in a dark interior shot.

Yes, #5 is shot outside on an overcast day.

The 1D-III is very fine at high ISO with virtually no noise as long as you expose properly. Shadow noise is very acceptable. There are a large number of high ISO shots with the 1D-III on DPreview. Here is an example of mine from a recent Polish traditional dance show. The stage lighting causes this image to have normal and underexposed areas and the 1D-III still does a fine job. On the whole, it easily matches the 5D for low light performance.
