p.1 #1 · #247: Where Edges Meet

Where three edges meet, a point is made. This becomes readily apparent when looking at or walking through the Monument to the Murdered Jews of Europe in Berlin, Germany.

This is a very powerful photo, and obviously tells a powerful story. I like the B&W treatment, but did you try a bit more contrast--in other words make it a bit darker considering the subject matter? One more question. Did you take this image this week. I don't have an exif program but the rules say that the image has to be taken during the week of the assignment.

Welcome to the site. I hope that you will continue to post your wonderful work.

Funny thing is, I haven't edited the photo for black and white. That was taken in color over the weekend. The stones provide a natural B&W appearance. I'm sure altering the photo in CS3 would have provided something more powerful.

And yes, this photo was taken this past weekend while out walking around the city. I'm still learning CS3, and if the EXIF data was not passed on, I apologize.

EDIT: I see, my profile still says "United States". My fault, I'm still located in Berlin, Germany at the moment. EXIF Data is included with the photo, I just checked it with my firefox plug-in and it shows up correctly. Including the fact that I haven't changed the "owner's name" on the camera either.

Thank you for the comments. This is one of the first photos I've put online for others to view.

AJ,

A very nice abstract! Haven't been there myself yet, but the
next time I'm in Berlin I guess I'll give it a try.

Best,
Marc.

EXIF Viewer is the extension.

Right click on an image, "view EXIF data" and a separate window will pop up with the information.

Thank you all for your comments.
