I refuse to refer to your fish as "Lola" But it's
a very nice photograph. Very well done with the
absence of reflections from the main body of
water, so you can clearly see the fish (alright:
"Lola") and the splash. By the way, when will
we see Wanda?
I'm a bit uneasy with the composition, though,
because my eyes keep wandering between
Lola and the splash. I might've tried putting
the splash onto a rule-of-thirds grid point (more
prominent position) and Lola into the corner,
preferably both on a diagonal.
Marc: I'd read that when you crop a moving object like this you have to leave room for where it's going and not crowd it either. I was lucky just to keep this fast little fish in the frame at all really. Thanks for the feedback!!
I hope you have them covered. I have heard horror stories about herons eating up a small fortune.

CHRISTIAN: I have my koi pond protected by a 'scarecrow'--a motion-activated, infrared device hooked up to a garden hose. (they sell them on amazon.com) They also keep other critters out of your yard. Before I got the scarecrow I lost 12 baby koi to a heron; I also lost 2 to raccoons. Things are secured now. Thanks for the feedback and wonderful compliments!!!!
