That truly is a magnificent photography. Moon shoots are one of my favorite subjects that I struggle with. Your composition and Photoshop skills are to be commended. Also, thank you for sharing how you captured this photograph.
absolutely amazing photo!! I love the structure of it, with the cables drawing you down the road. Theres a bit of glare on the road (just to the right of centre) which I wouldve been tempted to try and fix, but this is one of the best photos I've seen on here. Congratulations!
Thanks, I had thought about PSing out the glare but that is actual moonglare so I decided to leave it in since it actually proves that there was a moon up there rather than pasting a moon onto black sky. I might revisit that issue in the future but for now, I'll run with it.
Very nice image, I like it alot. I've done the same experiment with full moon shots. I might like it better with the horizon at the 1/3 line, take out just a bit of the lower road maybe
Thanks, Mark. I thought about cropping it there but it unbalances the picture more than I want. As it stands, I think it obeys the "rule of thirds" fairly well. The moon is on the upper and lefthand third, the wires are on the righthand third and there is a boundary of light along the lower third.
Thanks again for the nice comment and the suggestion. It made me think about it again.
Congratulations Tom! I feel honored to be amongst your company, and a bit surprised as well. I especially appreciate your sharing your techniques and intend to give it a try soon.
What a great picture! I love the way the moon has lit up the terrain. The road leading off in that direction gives a very thoughtful perspective to the whole thing.
I used to haul cattle and grain around that area. I am sure that I have been down that actual stretch of road at some point or another.
I saw this scene last full moon (Nov) and can you believe no camera with me..seeing this beauty reminds me of my stupidity. WOW,a gorgeous shot!!! Carolyn
