Yeha!!!!!!! LOVE IT!!!! Only tested in the house as it was raining when it arrived ...(murphys Law) but gonna go at it tomorrow. Ahhhh...so nice not to be waiting anymore...
Gotta love those gold letters on the neck strap
2200 shots is a gross under-estimate. Mine is sitting at 4939 shutter count with 41% remaining. The vast majority of those shots were at the 10fps burst rate. I've got a second battery, but I'm absolutely loving the endurance the MkIII batteries have.

thanks for you answers
Its in the RιponsesPhoto magazine
I was talking about the pro and cons of the Mark3, listed in the Mark3 article.
sorry I don't remember the pages.
one of the cons was that the Image quality is moyenne", meaning medium!
The author says he had a demo Mark3!!!
so thats why it wasn't good enough, I guess
what do you think guys?

When I contacted Canon Canada about trying a demo preproduction Mark III in April, they informed me that they still only had versions on hand that were not cleared for image analysis purposes. On an interesting contrary note to the French review, there was a link to a German article floating around where the conclusion was that image quality was the best they'd ever seen from a DSLR, almost to the point of medium format back quality. Based on images from my Mark III, at ISO 400 there is still slight noise if you look for it at 100%, but the reality is for most applications this noise will never show up. Therefore I no longer use noise reduction in post until ISO 1600 and higher. Even at 1600 it's only to reduce chroma noise (as I like some luminance noise in my images).

WOW! That's even better! I was just quoting the manual as I haven't had a chance to test it.
Sorry, didn't mean to make it sound like I was picking on you. I've read the 2200 shot estimate in the manual, and its exactly why I ordered a second battery. I'm coming from a 20D, and I really like this camera.
Thanks Stan, was playing with it last night in very low light with the 3200 ISO and was realy impressed with the low noise! Going out' in the field' today !!
Some of us are still waiting for the autofocus issue to clear up before purchasing the Mark III. Could anyone and everyone with the Mark III post up some photos of the actual camera on, with the information LEDs and the LCD lit, etc.
I really just want to see the camera up close, so that I will no what I will be using in the future. Of course, I could just google it, but the photos of the Mark III are still limited in angle etc. Plus, I really would like to see the LCD and LED's in action.
There was a 65 page Canon brochure ("Canon EOS Digital for Professionals) included with this months Rangefinder magazine that was absolutely filled with every imaginable detail and image of the Mk III.

Yeah, that was a sweet "bonus" eh Bill?
A friend of mine sent this parcel note on the new 1D III Another problem is that some covers are falling off. A number of people have lost the cover to the extension system terminal, (I have). I have also lost the cover to the pc and remote control terminals. I lost it once and reattached it, (quite difficult) then completely lost it again. I had to order one for $8, but still cannot get it installed.
Never saw this problem in any of the older 1D,1D II or n

I believe that Canon is looking in to problems / concerns with the Mark III. If their engineers believe the problem is hardware related, I would guess they would halt new shipments. If the problems does not cause issues for the majority of owners, and it can be fixed in firmware, shipments will continue. This is my guess of course. So does anyone know if dealers are still receiving Mark III as of today?
I try to monitor a number of forums for any news on the MkIII, including additional deliveries. I've only seen a couple people mention they are receiving one this week. A few weeks ago a LOT of people were receiving them or posting shipping confirmation, very excited.
Distribution seems to have nearly stopped for now.
I did my first portrait shoot last night with the MKIII ! It was great in low light and so nice not to be changing batteries in mid stream! So much to learn with this new gem!!Here is the gallery if ya want to take a peek.
