My only issue is I will occasionally get a half battery reading on two brand newly charged batteries, until I turn off the camera and readjust the tightness of the grip. Otherwise i have no problems....but I was curious to read someone saying they could use a MBD100 grip...aren't the connectors different (to accomodate the new battery connectors?)

What I mean by using the MB-D100 is that you can rip one apart and use it for parts instead of paying for Nikon service parts. I said I had seen them for sale for 20$ at amazon NEW, so it might be worth a shot.
No problems with mine. I purchased one, (mb200), when they were
first released. Connected it to the D200 and haven't removed it since - leave
it on - all the time. If it falls apart, I'll just get another one. Extends battery
life nicely.
thats a great idea zach, but ordering parts from the nikon LA parts dept, is pretty easy. Jesse is the guy that helps, and so far the prices are pretty amazing. I bought an entire bottom cover for a D70 for $8, screws were like .39ยข, the fax you a blow up nomenclature of the camera, and all the part #s are diagramed...
I also never take mine off, and haven't had any problems with it at all. I love the feel of the grip attached, especially when the camera's mated to bigger lenses, and the added battery life is a must for me. I don't overtighten it, and it doesn't seem to have the "wobbly" feel at all that others have talked about...
