Anyone know how the Greg Nelson photo, in the December 11th edition of Sports Illustrated, was taken? It is the photo near the front of the magazine that is of Yao Ming taking a fade away jumper. Amazing shot but I have no idea how it was taken.
I assume you mean the one on the left of THIS PAGE.
Camera was probably fitted with a 16-35 or similar lens mounted below the hoop with a floor plate. Strobes were fired but on the opposite end only. A lot of times, strobes will cause a water reflection on shinny floors when mounted high.
