JW, I'm getting a sense of why your topic has such a good life as it captures such good living in such an entertaining way, complete with great photos of course! Nice inclusion of some more people, including your buddy Bryan on his Harley. I'm not about to search through 280 pages to see how many more illustrated stories you've put in here, but I imagine there are plenty of good ones.
Glad your enjoying our thread. Throughout, from page one on, you'll see folks taking me to task because they found us and ended up burning the midnight oil to get all the way through. Now that we're close to 300 pages, it would be a real marathon. There are lots of fun stories from all our folks hidden in those pages. We should figure out some way to just print the whole thing in book form.
at worst it means somebody sits down and copy & pastes each page with tis pictures and assembles the pieces. At best - somebody on the inside who is willing to access the server could load the thread and its related files.
It would be a lot of work - thats for sure.
I just gave it a try - copied the text and pasted into Word, then went back and dragged an image to the desktop and placed it in the right spot. Then edited out all the extra unnecessary text. It would take an army of high school kids to get through this thread! Did notice one thing Jim, my exif reader sees your footprint but Photoshop File Info only shows the camera - might want to check on that.
btw - looks like you used the Mark III exclusively and had pretty good results. I'm wondering when Canon will start actually fixing them - they told me I'd get an email at the end of October...
Thanks for the info. I did use the III exclusively yesterday, and it did fine, weird camera! My Canon insiders are telling me the e-mail is coming. The great news is, so is the 1Ds MKIII! All my exif looks normal in Photoshop, wonder why it's losing it in the transition?

A book of this thread is a good idea, but another challenge would be getting permission from the copyright holders of the many posted photos along the way.

My take is to do the work as we go - maybe break it down to three or four of us, take 1/3 or 1/4 of the previous pages and each do the work, assemble the photos, get the copyrights and delete the rest. ... shouldn't take more than a couple of years... any of us going to prison or have a lot of time on our hands?
There used to be a piece of software for Macs that would download every page you surfed to, including the picts, automatically. I wonder if something like that wouldn't make the job easier.
Then it would only be contacting each photographer to see if they want to be included - if so to ask for high res images for publishing and a limited release for use. Anyone not wanting to participate, would have to understand their posts and photos would be deleted. It could work!
I think I mentioned that TKI is closed for a month (fingers crossed!) for major repaving and renovation. I am out there and above it three or four times a week documenting the changes and updates for a myriad of city and associated private firms (good gig huh?!). At the south end of the field There's a new hangar complex going up. It was over sold before the sales meeting early this year, but I was fortunate to have the inside track and got my name on one. Occupancy is late January '08. It would make a pretty cool spot for a seminar, with a field trip to "The Great Dobransky's" for a late afternoon/dusk shoot. My hangar is the one on the right, there's 24 total.
