It got so close to the foreground trees getting lit (will post it later)...the fall colors were past peak in most areas...and the wind had taken care of the rest...this was the 2nd best morning on the whole trip (will post it later as well)...

Superb starter image. Very fine exposure and compo. As usual, your low light skills shine here. I look forward to more images. No disrespect, but these eclipse your cell phone shots from last fall.
I am thinking I'd trade nice light on those trees for beautiful clouds just about any day of the week... That has to be one of the best skies I've seen at Oxbow. You handled the situation well.
You didn't happen to bracket any exposures there that bring up the tree detail a bit? Might be interesting to see if you can simulate an GND and bring out those colors a little more, although I realize that can make an image a little hokey looking sometimes.
