Originally built in the '40s, the Choctawhatchee Bay Bridge connected North Walton County, Florida to the Beaches of South Walton, and tourism began with a trickle. Years later, the two-lane draw bridge, no longer able to handle the increased traffic flow, was upgraded to a more modern "high rise", but the two ends of the causeway leading up to the old bridge still exist down below and provide excellent fishing piers. I was fortunate to find one end of it vacant late Saturday afternoon just long enough to compose this shot. I cloned out the barricade at the end of the road in an effort to improve the perspective that I had obtained using a 21MM wide angle lens.
Thanks for looking.

Robert,
Another great entry and you even had mother nature cooperate by adding a fluffy cloud at the end of the road. Best of luck this week and just as a reminder don’t forget to add the number to your picture.
Regards,
Tom
Great shot Robert. I like the fact you removed the barricade, makes it have no end in sight. You must have fantastic weather there, you always seem to find just the right sky. Good luck.

Excellent perspective (p.i.) on the assignment, Robert. (It just looks like it must be a scene from Florida.) You can't get more direct on "Roads" than that!
What an eye - your stuff always "works" to perfection. Along with everything mentioned, I like the yellow lane markers leading to the complementary blue sky.

You are right, Ken, I was literally "on the road." Having set everything manually, I placed the camera down on the pavement, lined it up between the yellow lines and fired off a couple of shots. The results were much more to my liking that the hand-held shots taken from a higher angle.
Very nice perspective and composition Robert. I also like the foreground being a bit OOF........it gives one the immediate feel of motion
Nice job

Great shot and editing Robert. I love the perspective and the beautiful blue sky. Looks like it's a road to infinity. Perfect for the WA.

Thanks, Nick. "Road to Infinity" would have been a good title. I wish that I had thought of that.

Hi Peter,
I usually don't want to have the foreground out of focus in any picture that I take; however, I thought that it was appropriate for this particular shot. I am pleased that you agree.
