I also have an M8 on order. I shot Leica M for almost 15 years, then I moved to Canon digital, but I never had the same feeling although the 5D was a great camera. IMHO you have too much stuff. To me the M is not really about changing lenses on the spot, at least when shooting pj Since I don't usually shoot longer than 35 mm, for me the 28 summicron will do pretty much everything. However, you have some really nice peaces of glass. Can't wait anymore....
Well, I did use the Domke bag. An F6 with a 2 compartment insert at each end and the body
with lens in the middle. I bought some cheap rear caps and glued 4 pairs of 2 so I get the
possibility of 8 lenses, 2 in each corner. I agree that one would not go out with 9 lenses
but I travel and am gone for a month or more. Cards, charger and other accessories in the
front pocket.

I just got a peek at C1 Pro v4 (due out Q1 2007), and two things were intersting. The first is how fast it runs compared to v3.x (previews were almost instant, where they took several seconds for v3.x on the same machine). The second thing was that he said they had been working closely with Leica on the M8, and the software engineers for C1Pro have said that the M8 had the best out of camera pictures they had ever seen. When I asked him what he meant by that, he said colours, contrast and sharpeness we amazing.
Whether this turns out to be true or not, I cannot say, but I am just passing it on.....
There's a Bessa lens case that take one of the pancakes and a viewfinder. I have one of those and think it's excellent for something I want to bring along just in case. (Literally! Sic.) Keeps them both together safely at the bottom of a bag.
I'd post an image of my own M shooting bag, but you would all be disappointed. I use a small lens pouch for the 50mm, just in case I need something longer than the 24mm mounted on the camera, and stick it inside my pocket. You don't NEED more than two lenses anytime with an M system camera, and you just stick the body & extra lens in your jacket pocket. No "bag" required, unless flying somewhere. This ain't your father's DSLR

I do remember my Dad's M3. It was a camera+lens in one brown leather 'case' (that hugged the body/lens very well), with a nice brown leather neck strap. He carried his one extra lens in another solid leather 'pouch' that was attahced to the neck strap. That was it. Oh how I yearn for kit that small and light

Just for a laugh I have one of those brown Leica cases for a M3 in one of my boxes of stuff I accumulated.
The Luigi half cases are very nice. They make the bottom plate a little harder to take off, but protect the camera from nicks and dings. I'm sure Luigi will come up with one for the M8 as soon as he has a camera in hand. http://www.leicatime.com I use one with my M6 about half the time. (When I don't expect to go through film at a rapid pace.)
