I love the image Jane...........this one as well as the other. Your tone and composition are extremely thought provoking, soft, warm.......just perfect for your idea for this WA.
I find this version slightly more subtle which draws me in more.......
also very nice lighting.

Thanks, Peter! I know better than to think that I can predict winners--but I very much appreciate your vote of confidence. It's funny--when the topic was announced, I knew immediately what I wanted to do. If the shoot with my Mom wasn't successful, I just wouldn't have known what to do then Glad for my night's sleep that it worked out No I don't take these assignmens that seriously.

I agree with the others. I love the emotions that this shot evoked in me. I will turn 60 in a few weeks and realize life is shorter than I ever would have imagined at age 20. Thank you for a fine piece of art.

Ty, thanks so much. I too will be 60 in the not toooo distant future. You know, there is a lot of talk about cherishing moments--but few people actually do. And even fewer make the changes in their lives to truly be joyous--always after they have wasted so much of their time--and we cannot ever get them back. Ever--ever. That is a tragedy to me. And try as I might, I must say that I am probably as guilty of the next in squandering away time. Enough of these sobering thoughts! Thanks for the kinds words and I am glad that I touched you!!

On a personal note, I wish that older people, the grannies, great-grannies, were more visible in the arts. Beauty isn't tied to young flesh and surfaces.
whow , what a great way of expressing life , that shot is more than a winner, it belongs on the front page of a magazine .. great work , it touched me and made me think of my mother who passed away so many years ago. this picture truly says a thousand word . the best jane , really ....
