She's beatiful but the shot is just too light for my liking, maybe a bit darker would be nice

agreed with cside. The picture looks like it was lightened in post production rather then a high key shot, so I'm not too much a fan of it. Eyes seem slightly blurry, but that maybe how you saved the jpg.

Can you share the origonal file. Pretty hard to tweak an already edited shot.

Sure, here is the smaller version:
http://img468.imageshack.us/img468/3558/img4233web2ms9.jpg

I can't seem to have imageshack hold the larger JPG. Imageshack seems to be automatically downsizing for the web. I'd even be happy to send the RAW file, but don't know where to post. I'd be willing to email it or post it elsewhere if anyone wants to see it.

I agree that the eyes seem a little soft. I appreciate all instructive help. This is why I love FM!

Wow, that's amazing. I totally suck with PS. This has so much more POP. I wonder if I had the focal point on her bra. Her bra looks pretty crisp.

No you didn't, but the DOF is very shallow. Her nose is probably the focal point which is in line with her right breast. The one critique, never said, was her left breast was out of focus and would have been better if in focus IMO.

Do you have any more shots from the series?

OK. Here's my attempt.

http://homepage.mac.com/iblog/.Pictures/c.jpg

I'm no Photoshop whiz, but this is what I did:

Adjustment layers from bottom up:

Curves - clicked "Auto" for a quick "WB adjustment" to get rid of orange cast.

Channel Mixer - Red Output Channel:

Red: 100%
Green: 40%
Blue: 36%
Constant: -12%

Green Output Channel:

Red: 40%
Green: 50%
Blue: 60%
Constant: 0

Blue Output Channel:

Red: 10%
Green: 60%
Blue: 60%
Constant: +6%

Then a Hue/Sat Layer: Sat @ +25

Brightness/Contrast layer: Contrast @ +15

Another Hue/Sat Layer with Sat @ -50

Then, I created a copy of the background layer and burned some of the highlights on the breasts. I also dodged the irises and a few darker areas in the face that weren't really blemishes, but appeared to be due to the above processing. This was a quick job, particularly on the breasts since the processing really blew them out, but you get the idea.

Flattened and saved as a JPG.

It's definitely a different look, certainly not a glamour treatment - curious what others think...

The color fix-up is very cool. I especially appreciate the specifics from those who have editted. This is extremely instructive for a newb like me.

Her head is way bigger than her chest! To minimize distortion, try using at least your 50mm lens, but the 70-200 will do more flattering glam pictures. There are no highlights in her eyes. Using a reflector or small diffused fill to the side would give her some flattering highlights.

We were in a very tight room. I really wanted to use the 50, but the guy who brought in the model kept saying "get more ass shots." :-)

Yeah that was it, focused on the nose NOT the breasts. Pretty girl.

Desaturated Version

Smart Sharpen the entire picture
Dodge her eyes (Range: highlight) to make it pop
Adjustment Layer - Channel Mixer - select monochrome - R 84, G -2, B 18 (depends on your taste)
Set ocpacity of the channel mixer layer to 67%

something like that

My try:

1. Adjust Levels to colored image to darken a bit and remove red some.
2. Duplicate layer twice
3. Desaturate bottom layer
4. Desature mid layer and set to screen mode
5. Overlay top layer
5a. Make new layer from eyes and screen mode
6. Add noise
7. Sharpen
