Flib, kinda reminds me of what some people have done to their minds Great expanse, and dead cells......Not you of course--or me--or anyone on this site I am sure Great shot and wonderful sky as usual. I find the perspective a bit "unnerving"--but that might have to do with the dead plants in my brain.

Fibble, I have seen many of your posts &. loved them all. One of my favorites was your self portrait that won a WA or MA. This is another beauty. Cheers!

I tried eating straw once, but after 4 bales it dawned on me that it's actually a little dull. That was during my "exploring the inner self of the cow" years. 4 bales you might think isn't that much, but trust me, chewing it several times over after regurgitating it is not inconsiderable work. To this day, I still have a blockage of several kilos of straw stuck to the left-hand side of my stomach. If I don't give counter pressure, my natural tendency is to lean to the left. This might explain the angle.

I can hear the straw screaming!!!! Oh, the stalk-manity!
Cool pic, love the clouds. Quit drinking so much or buy a spirit level!

The straw was only screaming because of my reputation of being a fearsome straw regurgitator. Just after taking this photo, I stepped 1 metre closer and the entire stack got up and legged it down the field in terror. I'd have got a photo, but sadly my memory card was full.
*sigh*
Opportunities continue to evade me.
Hmmm... I always buy spirits level - I find they tend to slosh out otherwise so I guess I'm still confused as to why my picture isn't straight.

Did you do that in one shot? The exposure looks too good...That or you did a lot of post-editing I guess. Whatever you did, it looks good.
One RAW file, two exposures loaded into PS and blended together. Not tricky, just need to get the exposure of the original shot spot on, or you can't get the full range that you need from the two variants of that exposure. Does that make sense? Fred has an article on how to do it which is worth reading.

Woot... I've got a fan. Thankyouverymuch. I've sent your money to the usual address. Sorry about last time, I hadn't realised that Lira weren't valid currency anymore...

Very inspiring angle on some could be boring things. excellent
Whythankyouverymuch. I like to give even mundane things a chance at being interesting. I did try to get one of these bales onto TV to be interviewed by one of the UK's more charismatic chat show hosts, but he was having none of it. The bales publicity agent was understandably miffed, so I had to take this shot to appease them. They were getting stroppy and seeing as I had my camera, it seemed fitting to attempt to give the attention they so dearly crave.

Looks explosive to me, great shot Flibble.

Bales eat beans. Lots of beans. Get too close with a naked flame and it truly gets messy. This photo was only achieved by flaunting a flame just outside the cloud of methane that surrounds them. Instead of actually exploding, they can be tricked into looking like the're about to explode. A technique I suggest you only try if the farmer is not around - lest he thinks you're some kind of arsonist.
