p.1 #1 · Nikon D2H and lenses officially announced
Today the long awaited Nikon D2H was officially announced at Nikons WEBsite.
The D2H is a 2464x1632 (4.1 mP) camera with the LBCAST high latitude sensor. The camera shoots 40 JPG or 25 NEF shots in speeds up to 8 frames per second in one burst. AF now has 11 zones working on 9 cross type sensors. The new Speedlight SB 800 with i-TTL works wireless over different channels for multiple flash lighting setups. Shutterlag is an amazing 37ms, the fastest SLR at the moment.
The much discussed Wireless WT-1 grip makes the D2H part of an ethernet network based on the 802.11b protocol within a range of about 150 meters (long antenna based). WEP encryption ensures wireless datasecurity.
Nikon uses Capture 4.0 for the dust problem of image sensors. New delete dust technology removes dust specks in postprocessing. It seems to be a process very much like dust and scratch removal in their famous scan software. Capture is also capable of creating fisheye shots and uses different tools for image enhancement.
