Australia recently commemorated ANZAC (Australian and New Zealand Army Corp) day on the 25th of April. A day dedicated to the memory of all Australian and New Zealand servicemen and women who have fought in past wars. The day marks the anniversary of the first major military action fought by Australian and New Zealand forces during the First World War.
Anyway, it reminded me of a bridge named in their honour, the ANZAC Bridge (pictured below). Obviously is not the most well know bridge in Sydney, but still an interesting subject and local landmark.
Is that steel or concrete? I love the shade of gray to white and the black support wires. We have small bridge here in Denver that has a single spire and lots of guide wires and I can photograph it for hours just playing with angles and cropping.
Great pic. I assume it was at dusk in that some form of lighting is making the light spot, but the sky still has some color?
Fabulous shot, Cameron! Another one of the great shots posted this week. I think there will be a lot of finalists - this is one for sure.
All the best,
Endre
The support structure is concrete with steel wire supports. Yes this was taken at dusk with a longish exposure (if you look really closely you can see the momevent of flag at the very top of the structure). The bridge does have a number of lights directed on to it also.
excellent compostion - elegantly simple geometric lines. It is shots like this that fool the untrained eye into thinking what we do is easy. having something so geometric composed this well is very difficult. And I love that sky. You have done very well for yourself. Good Work
Very artistic picture. Good use of space and shapes. I really like how you can make out the clouds on the lower right of the picture. Saturated blue color of the sky looks phenomenal. Quality stuff!
