After unsuccessfully looking for water reflections this morning, I decided to attempt to photograph pure drinking water against a white background, let me tell you, not and easy task because it becomes invisible!
Gorgeous shot, John!!
I'd say you found a way to make the invisible visible. Excellent! There's lots of tough competition this week.
All the best,
Endre

I can only imagine how difficult, John. So how did you accomplish this feat??
You did a great job. Great capture.

Thanks for commenting Jane!
I wanted it to look ‘flat’ so I used a square glass to avoid the normal distortion, reflections and mainly the loss of focus away from the center. The water surface is reflecting the red table and my dark sweatshirt…

Looks like another pro job from you, to me! Has Evian or Perrier been in touch yet...?
Suse, I’m sure there must be many ads already with a similar look, but thanks for the comments; you are becoming my number one motivational speaker…
love the reflections and the really nice composition. I imagine how difficult it must be to have the lemon fall into the right spot, not to speak of hitting the shutter at the right moment.

Thank you Oliver!
I had the camera set on a tripod and using the infrared remote control it wasn’t that difficult, with all manual settings preset I only took a half dozen shots…
Clean, fresh and very much applicable to the assignment. Your lighting is always near perfection. You mentioned in a prior WA that you had relied strickly on ambient lighting. Was this done solely with ambient lighting as well?

Thanks for the comments Robert!
This shot was just the opposite, it was done under direct frontal sun light with the white background forming a semi-circle around the subject and far enough from it to prevent any shadows.
I realize that’s nuts to try not to show water in a water assignment, but this is the way I don’t see it…
