hmm, I know someone who got inspired by some photographs in another website beginning by dpchall...
But I think you executed this one perfectly, much better than the others I saw using the same technique. In yours the DOF is perfect, and I like the effect in the drop with this background.

You bet Christo ( the original )! I was inspired. The first time I saw a photo using this technique was in a magazine. It was a photo contest winner and was an entire American flag. I had forgotten about the image until I saw it again recently on another forum. Is a very fun and easy shot to make, and not having seen one on this website, I thought I would give it a shot.

Oh yeah!. I love this one, Paul. Lots to look at and you pulled it off extremely well. I'm guessing that these are water drops on a sheet of glass with a picture of stars below it?
However you did it, you did it well. 2 thumbs up.

Adam, I mentioned it in my thread were I posted a test image but will mention it again to prevent this thread from turning into a how you did it thread. Very simple... Glass sheet ( from photo frame ) drops of water. Suspend the glass above your subject ( I used glass blocks which I happened to have ) and shoot away. I used my 100mm macro and my tripod with a lateral arm. The remote shutter release was very handy.

A cool shot, indeed. I've never seen this effect before, unlike some of the other members.

Excellent, reminds me of those magiceye things that if you stare at them long enough the image turns to 3D and floats off the page. Well done!

really nice effect. Looks like the balls are floating. I'm wondering how long it takes to create something like that...

Very nice technique on this, Paul. I like the consistently well rounded drops.
Awesome detail, this probably looks incredible under a black light. Mike

As a BIG 2001 fan you have my attention! As always you come through with an excellent shot. Sorry I was late in replying - I've been closing down my classroom for the summer and buried deep in school stuff! I love the color and design - thanks for the explanation - the Melor photo classroom continues!
Thanks Paul!
Joe
