I'm not weighing in on whether these rumors are based in fact or not... but that lens, a 40mm 1.2L makes me drool. As for the side by side images of camera bodies, I would think that a slightly smaller body with built in grip would be a great idea. The 1 series bodies are nice, but anything I can save on weight is great... hauling around a 1-series body at an all day event is fine, but the wrists can get tired.
Why would you say that? Don't you think Canan is capable of getting the highlights and the shadows in precisely the same position on different sized cameras shot years apart?
This photo is a fake.
I've seen it before and someone had shown that they bottom of the camera (vertical grip) is actually from a Nikon camera. I forget which camera it was.
I wish Canon would make something like this though.
The photo is a photoshop special... the lower grip is from a D2X graphic. Go to DPreview, pull up the D2X review and compare the images for yourself...

There is no way Canon will come out with a 40L lens. What use would it really be when there is already an incredible 35L? It's just a joke and nothing more.
ok... its fake, but i enjoy the new fake model... i would love one camera build like a tank EOS1 Series, smaller and lighter... i hope canon see this image...
