Haven't used the other ones, but I had the 10-22 and loved it! Impressive build quality, focus speed, and sharpness.

I like my Sigma 10-20mm. Excellent sharp pictures. It rival the Tamron 17-35mm. Or did I just got lucky?? To bad, it can't beat 135mm L.

Great pictures, 4x4rock -- thanks for the link!

In summary, I find it interesting that very little good (and quite a bit bad) has been said about the Tamron 11-18. People are generally positive on the Sigma 10-20 and I hear audible gushing on the Canon 10-22 and Tokina 12-24. This is exactly why I find these discussions useful... thanks to everyone who has generously shared their impressions thus far.

One thing to keep in mind about the Sigma 10-20mm. There is quite a bit of distortion. But I like it, coz it is different. But when you don't want the distortion, you better carry a latter with you.

P.s., sorry, I can't spell today, my mind is not thinking right.

The bad man in the camera store made me look through a Canon 10-22mm. His evil mojo worked. I'm very happy with the lens.

Tony,
Why do you think there is a lot of distortion in the Sigma. Here are my boring brick walls again at 10 and 20 mm. I don't think there is much distortion even at 10mm except in the extreme corners.

Tom, the sigma's distortion is said to be worse because it is "wavy". A "moustache" distortion I think it is called. It is harder to correct (if needed), in post proccess.

PS: Read the www.photozone.de reviews..

Tom, if you look at the 10mm carefully, it is almost a fish eyes effect. If compare to other wide angle, the Sigma one is pretty distorted. However, it does focus fast, even in extreme low light.

Ya'll know a lot more about the lens than I do and I haven't shot a lot with it yet. But, so far, I love it. Will upload DC picts next week and we'll compare.

Tokina 12-24 on sale at bhphoto, type "psjan" in search box and go to page 7, 434.95+Shipping, just got mine, new! I love the build and the contrast of the images. Clutch manual focus was very weird at first, but used to it now.

I went with the Canon 10-22, and my initial impression was not great... since then (I've learned how to use it) I'm really amazed. If I can stay away from f/3.5, my corners look awesome..

Everything else, color, contrast, etc are all top notch.

Why argue?

You can't go wrong with the tokina 12-24, canon 10-22 and the sigma 10-20.

I agree, it looks like the wall is about to explode, but...it can be a useful effect too.

We'd review it if there was a place for reviews of this lens here on FM. I've given informal reviews in about 10 posts, but they aren't easy to access.
