Apparently the 2 only characteristics he gave about the 30D are wrong (but I note the name was correct: congratulations). Are all the others due for photokina ?
I doubt they are. As I've said in the beginning, he only handled the 1DS RS himself, the other 2 were seen from afar, so he could have evaluated the fact that they had DIGIC 3 because of the 1DS RS. He didn't have Canon's product release timeline, only engineering models.
He mentioned some issues about software and sensor patent issues, which means these might only make an appearance later this year. I think I'm waiting it out.
Maybe the 17-40mm was hurting 16-35 sales Why else would it be discontinued Everything about it is a plus...Image quility up there with the 16-35 but not totally there....maybe they made a lens that was too good for the price w/e it is im glad i got mine when I did if it is to be cut!!!

This thread was hilariously absurd right from the beginning. Now, in light of Canon's actual announcements, it is especially so.

I'm sure he'll just say they are still real and will be released at the fall show instead. And then, when it turns out to be just a 1DsMkIIN, he will say the next PMA, etc, etc, etc.
I'm beginning to more appreciate certain forums where you are simply not allowed to post on any item not officially announced already....

I did say that these were simply information I came across. I did not assert about actual product releases. I simply put them up as it is, and let you guys decide for yourselves. Don't start flaming me for what began as a nice gesture, and not an attempt at rumor-mongering. There was no advantage for me to begin with.

I'm not sure if it's egg you see, but maybe you should be reading what he wrote rather than looking for dairy products :-) He always said that he wasn't sure and that he was getting pre-production info: "suggesting" "remains unknown". I give the guy credit for trying to help, and mostly for coming here afterward and listening to people's hogwash. As if anyone on FM got hurt physically, emotionally or spiritually due to the rumors posted here.
