This is all funny but I do believe Nikon would do well to update the D70s to separate/differentiate it some from the D50. Keep it at about $900 price that the D70s has and pack it with 8MP CCD, flexible commander flash of the D200, maybe two setting banks like the D100 had... and I hate to say it but... make it SD memory for an obvious upgrade path for D50 owners.
As it is now, it's hard for me to recommend the D70s over the D50. The price difference is pretty large while the feature difference and image quality issues don't necessarily justify it.
I expect an update to the D70s before end of 2006... maybe D90 maybe D70shx.

D2H (I'm sure there will be a pixel upgrade to this in the next couple of months 10MP?)
I hope not. I think 10MP for a sports camera would be a deal breaker for many -- at least with the current speed of laptops and wireless transmission devices. Many think 8MP is the sweet spot for sports and PJ work. How would one efficiently ingest, caption, process, and send 10MP files across the wires (or pushed to a website) quickly after an event?

You see, that's not fair I couldn't even complain that the D93 was back focusing that they replaced it.
Oh don't worry, Nikon fixed the back focusing in D93. But now people are complaining about diagonal, horizontal and vertical banding in the D93s. Thats why I'm holding out for the D97.
I'd like a large jump in megapixels on the next Dh3 - somewhere in the neighborhood of Six megapixels please. That way I can also print the occasional 20x30 better.
Then click "Promotions" and "New Lower Price"

As far as those who say that the Nikon digital line is "complete", I disagree with that. I think you'll see at least one new body on either the bottom end or the top end this year. If I remember Hogan's predictions correctly, he thinks it's gonna be a digital FM3a, but of course there are those who think it's gonna' be on the top end to compete with Canon, whether it's FF or not: a D3 or equivalent. Personally, I don't think we'll see a D3 until 2007, but it will be interesting to see what Nikon announces at the upcoming PMA and what they announce at the next Photokina.

I agree. However, I think the new body needs to be in the middle -- on resolution. But it also needs to have best-in-class speed and AF.
The current D2Hs is an excellent camera. But many sports and PJ photogs find they need at least a smidgen more resolution, but are uncomfortable with using the D2X in HSC mode all day just to get a more reasonable file size. HSC on the D2X is certainly a fantastic feature not replicated in any other body. However, it’s still better to compose with the entire viewfinder.
I think a D2Hs replacement is needed. It should have 6-8MP, but really not any more than that for reasons I've mentioned already. What it does need; however, is 1DM2-beating AF accuracy and speed and very good high ISO performance for those who shoot in poorly lit gyms without strobes or out on the field during Friday night HS football games.
