Amazing shot. I am curious how many times did it take to get this shot?

Thanks to all for your accolades. Don't shy away from criticism (constructive or especially deconstructive) if you feel it is warranted. I'm interested to know anything that you think would improve the shot.

jadechild,

Thanks for the praise. I shot about 8 set-ups with 6 consecutive high-speed frames per set-up. I ended up with some wildly complex formations, but I chose this one because it provided the most pleasing composition. I wanted the shot to be appealing to a coffee drinker by suggesting overzealousness in pursuit of an immediate fix, rather than connoting "disaster" due to carelessness.

I love this. Great capture and original. Are those fish? Looks like trout swimming upstream.

hjones,

Thanks. Yeah, they kinda do look like fish under all that coffee. Actually, the pattern on the saucer is rendered in a complementary fashion inside the cup. Near as I can tell, it's supposed to be some sort of grain (or alien pod? ) mingled with flowers.
