p.1 #1 · 50mm f/1.4 date code?

I am looking at my 50mm f/1.4...but i can't find the date code. Serial number is there.....

Anyone know how to determine date code on a 50mm f/1.4?

Beside the rear lens element of many (but not all) Canon lenses is a date code

I believe that this may be limited to the L lenses only.

my 50 1.4 says 02400750 on the back. no idea what that is.

I'd say it was the serial number. Date codes start with "U", like UXXXXX.

yeah unfortunately, some lens and mostly non-L have serial number markings. Not the usual UT####
