.....upgrade to the 20D. What is the perception from you guys/gals as to whether or not it will use the same BP511 battery? Or will they adapt the same battery found in the Reb XT?
I really don't see why Canon would choose to use a different design seeing as they used the same battery since the D30. But at this point, it's really only speculation since only Canon has the answer to that.
I thought the purpose of the different battery type in the XT was to minimize the dimensions of the body... no need to do tha ton a replacement 20d.
Maybe the replacement to the XT will use a smaller flash card and produce a body the same dimensions of the old AE-1. After all, there's no motor drive anymore, why leave room for a motor?
I don't see why they would replace the BP511 and BP512's.
Only reason why the 350D/Rebel XT has a smaller battery is becuse of the reduction in the size of the camera. Unless the new camera is made smaller I don't see a new battery being introduced.
Hard to belive its only a couple weeks till the release of the new 20D and no one seems to know any thing about this new body, I am waiting to see if my upgread will be the XT are the new 20D

It's more likely to be 7 or 8 weeks. PMA is the likely release time, and that is the end of Feb.
